Grandpa Eddie's presence will be sorely missed

I'm going to use this space to pay tribute to my longtime musical correspondent Eddie Long, who passed to the Great Beyond this week after a long and valiant struggle with prostate cancer.
Among Eddie's many passions was a fervent enthusiasm for the music of such ethereal and earnest songstresses as Sarah McLachlan and Chantal Kreviazuk. He traveled as far away as Canada to see his idols, and he met a goodly number of them. Upon his return from these musical adventures, Eddie would always call me or drop by to share his joy. He even got Kreviazuk to autograph a CD to me.
Eddie was also a great devotee of the festival experience. Somehow he always managed to find me in the dancing throngs at MagnoliaFest, Springfest and other such gatherings.
I'm going to miss getting that tap on the shoulder and turning to see him, eyes twinkling, grin beaming and pleased as punch at having found me. It won't be the same dancing to Donna the Buffalo without the accompaniment of Eddie's joyous gyrations.
Wherever you are, Grandpa Eddie, I hope you're surrounded by pretty ladies, listening to sweet music and savoring your perpetual all-access pass.

Scott and I will be at the Nashel's new home on Sun for some BBQ action and Daisy Jean fun time! I looped Faith in on our reunion 07 trip and we'll be talking more in person. Maybe we'll blog u again...
I finally finished 3 weeks of work hell, much happier now as things are calmer. Just had Scott's parents in last weekend.
Other than that, it is a GREAT summer in NY and HOT!

Umm guys ... it's not really a blog if you never post anything. We're going to the Nationals/Dodgers game tonight. It's supposed to be 90 degrees at the first pitch or something ridiculous like that. I see much cold brew in our future. Cousin Allegra has agreed to b-sit for Ruby.

Hello my friends - Just back from California hot springs and Reggae on the River with 20,000 close friends. Had a good visit w/Blossom & Mark. Apparently Averie & O'Shen are in the same class this year at Temple Israel! I think I speak for my fellow blogees when I say exercise your right to blog and give us some blog!
